I am freaking the fuck out.

I'm leaving for England for *6* months on Jan 4th and...

I DON'T KNOW HOW TO PACK!

Yes, it's going to be cold. But for the love of Christ, all my 'warm' clothes are leaving me no room for anything else. I'm from Florida, so I need all the artificial warmth I can get, lest I end up like one of those lizards I captured as a kid (I.E. On my back with little x's for eyes).

EW. This part isn't fun and I think this just may have been the most pointless thing I've *ever* posted.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

So, I'm not dead.

I've just been super-busy lately. Getting ready to go to England in January is *extremely* stressful, but I'm recovering. I'm getting nervous, though. I'm not sure what is going to be acceptable to say, how to act, etc. I'm sure I'm nervous over nothing, but with the Holiday season...*shrug*.

I've also been in a funk since the elction, but what can you do. The right-wing conservatives have hijacked our gov't. It really sucks when this stuff gets to you.

Living in rural Florida, church yards and cow pastures have apparently become enemy lines. :(

I'm gonna make a better effort to update this journal. My FL has dwindled (which really *does* suck; I've never been de-friended before but I don't blame those people).

I'm also going to cheer up. I have a lot to be excited about this coming year.

Off to bake some more.

Sorry it's been so long.

Survived Charly, thank God. It had been heading for us, but instead turned at the last minute and spared our area.

My thoughts go out to those who were not so lucky.

Unfortuantely, Frances is due to hit pretty much the entire state (including my area) in just a few hours. Luckily, we're getting the western part of the storm, which won't be nearly as destructive as the center or eastern side.

Just keep us Floridians in your thoughts over the next few days, guys.

Things are going to get ugly, and I hope everyone makes it through safely.

What I miss (and don't miss) about Buffy:

1)Silly, quipping Buffy.

2)The Scooby Gang, before they became backdrops for Buffy's love (or sex) life.

3)Evil!Spike. He kinda annoyed me in S7 and he sucked in S6.

4) Oz. Possibly the coolest supporting character *ever*

5) Good Villians (i.e., Angelus, Glory)

6) B/A. Awwww....*sniff*

What I don't miss:

1) Riley. God, was a character ever more one dimensional?

2) Useless Xander. That depressed me.

3) Pod!Buffy. She started devolving in late S4, came back in early and mid S5, then was completely gone by S6.

4) Pod!Giles. See above (or just watch 'Lies my Show Creators Told Me')

5)Shitty villians like Adam or The First.

6) Spuffy. Amen.

I just got super nostalgic watching S2. :(

Dear British people on my FL:

I have some silly questions regarding my upcoming move to Canterbury.

1) Since I'm going in January, I assume I'm going to freeze my ass off. Being from Florida, I'm sure I have no idea how I'm going to deal with this little...problem. Do you guys wear jackets all year round? Should I bring sweatshirts or should I endeavor to wrap myself up like an eskimo?

2) I don't want to feel like a complete tool, so should I try to be...I dunno, quieter? I've got a big mouth at the best of times and I'm irrationally afraid of alienating anyone and everyone who meets me :)

3) Anything else you can think of would be appreciated.

I was browsing through the 'Iliad' and found these references to Briseis, made by Achilles:

King Arthur...

Was not that good.

Likes:

1) Keira rocks. Despite my problems with Guinevere, I must admit that Miss K has a *whole* lot of talent.

2)Clive Owen. Wasn't sure what to make of him at first, but...he was a pretty good choice for Arthur. And he's pretty sexy. ;)

3) Guy who played Lancelot. Probably my favorite.

Dislikes: (I could just say everything else, but...)

1)Why the good holy *fuck* did they kill Lancelot? I know this is akin to, y'know, Paris *not* dying in Troy (but good God, his purpose was done at that point and it didn't really matter...but I digress)

2) The triangle wasn't even really addressed. Um...kay.

3) Now I'll just say everything else because there was just too much that irked me.

Now before anyone cries 'hypocrisy', let me say this:

'Troy' took major liberties. But that movie fit the context of the 'Iliad' as if it were the actual history instead of the myth. It did not take near as many liberties as 'King Arthur' did and was much better for it.

I dunno. I just think the filmmakers tried *way* too hard to make 'K.A' a historical epic.

I'm going to give this movie--- *1/2

Saw Spider-Man 2.

Awesome. Better than the first, if that's possible.

The ending was a bit clumsy, what with the whole reunion on the heels of all that Green Goblin (Hobgoblin?) nonsense.

Still loved it. Figured out why Tobey Maguire oozes teh sex.

Yay for John Edwards. I'm not sure I think that he's sexy, but

he's not Dick Cheney. So that's something, I guess.
